Semi Senso est un film de science fiction tourné avec la collaboration de 5 habitant.e.s de la région du Lac d’Orta dans le Piemont en Italie. Il est le fruit d’une résidence d’un mois en immersion dans le paysage, à la rencontre de “l’eau qui respire”.
Ses protagonistes évoluent dans un monde qui n’est ni dans le passé, ni dans le présent, ni dans le futur, mais à l’interstice entre plusieurs temps. On y entrevoit une “post-apocalypse utopique”. Dans cette dimension spéculative les êtres jouent et font la sieste tout le jour, mange des fruits et apprennent à se rencontrer sans aucune nécessité de productivité : iels sont juste présent.e.s au monde.
Semi Senso a été généré à partir d’improvisations collectives, à l’interstice entre fiction et video documentaire. Chaque action y est captée en une prise.
En amont du tournage les acteur.ices ont participé à un processus de recherche écosomatique à l’intérieur du territoire piemontais. Par le biais de protocoles de mises en présence, il et elles ont investigué des états de contact et d’écoute, lesquels ont été ensuite réinvoqués dans le film.

Semi Senso is a science-fiction movie shot with the participation of 5 inhabitants from the region of Lago d’Orta, in the Piemonte in Italy. It is the result of a one month immersion in the landscape, searching for “the breathing waters”.
Its characters are evolving inside a world that is not in the future, nor past, nor present, but between times. It depicts a “utopic post-apocalypse”. In this speculative dimension, humans could just eat fruits, sleep and play all day long. Without any need of productivity : they are just present to the world.
Semi Senso have been created from collective improvisation, in the interstice between fiction and documentary. Every action is captured in one shot.
Before the shooting, the actor and actresses have been involved in a process of ecosomatic research inside the piemontese territory. Through experimental protocols, they investiguated states of contact and listening. These states have been then re-invoked inside the film.

“Né en 2021 à l’initiative de l’artiste française Chloé Sassi, Somme Sensible est un projet collectif et un laboratoire pour créer des espaces de résonance. Dans une démarche transdisciplinaire et collaborative, au croisement entre workshops et dispositifs participatifs, les participants et participantes construisent des expériences de réceptivité, appelés les « activations ». En développant d’autres modes d’attention et de relation, il s’agit d’investiguer de nouvelles écologies mentales. Comment imaginer des manières différentes d’être ensemble ? Qu’est-ce que pourraient être des sociabilités alternatives, basées sur le soin et l’attention à l’autre ? De quelle manière la recherche de symbiose peut-elle nous engager à habiter le monde autrement ?
Dans le cadre de Moviment, le collectif invite à une « métasieste » au cours de deux sessions exploratoires de trois heures, moments de présence et de contact.”

“Created by the French artist Chloé Sassi, the Somme Sensible Collective is a laboratory for creating resonant spaces. Following a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach, in a cross between workshops and participatory exercises, participants build experiences of listening, called "activations".
It’s about exploring new mental ecologies through developing different attentional and relational methods. How can we imagine different ways of co-existing? What might alternative sociabilities, based on caring for and attending to others, be like? In what way might the quest for symbiosismake us inhabit the world differently?
As part of Moviment, the collective invites participation in a "meta-siesta" over two exploratory sessions, each lasting three hours and constituting moments of presence and contact.
On the basis of various playful and sensorial suggestions, participants are guided to experiment togetherness.”

« Le paradis remue en moi » se déploie comme un dispositif intimiste, une zone à habiter depuis les corps. Les photographies qui construisent cette alcôve compose les archives visuelles de moments « d’union avec l’entour ». L’audience est exhortée à ralentir et invitée à investir l’installation pour écouter les récits vécus derrière chacune de ces images.
Dans cette pièce sonore, Chloé Sassi retranscrit un rapport sensuel au paysage et aux autres-qu’humains, où les protagonistes rentrent en symbiose avec un lieu. La prise de vue devient ici proposition pour développer des situations d’intensités sensorielle et relationnelle. Comment témoigner de la rencontre d’un fleuve ou d’une agave ? Qu’est-ce que ce serait de faire l’amour à la mer ? Jusqu’où perdre les contours de son corps dans un désert polonais ?
La recherche poétique et l’improvisation sonore se tissent à l’éco-philosophie et le field recording intervient comme le moyen privilégié pour se « mettre à l’écoute » du monde. L’artiste avance la nécessité d’une autre relation au vivant, laquelle s’ouvrirait d’abord

« Paradise is moving inside of me » is built as an intimate display, a place to inhabit. The photograph that are composing this alcove are visual archives of moments of “union with the landscape”. The audience is invited to slow down and lay back in the installation to listen the stories around each of these images.
In this sound piece, Chloé Sassi relates sensual confrontation with landscape and others-than-humans, where the protagonists enter in symbiosis with a place. The shooting becomes proposition to develop situation of sensorial and relationnal exploration. How to share the close encounter with a river or an agave ? How would it feel to make love with the sea ? How far could we collectively melt with a polish desert ?
Poetic research and sound improvisation are connected with eco-philosophy, and field recording appears as a way to approach “deep listening”. Sassi argues the need of weaving new relationship with the living world.
